Stanley C Erck, President and CEO |
Mr. Erck applies his 25 years of management experience in the healthcare and biotechnology industry (Baxter International, Procept and Integrated Genetics) to shepherd the development and commercialization of Iomai technology. In addition to successfully negotiating major alliances with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and bringing products into clinical trials, as CEO he has managed the process of developing companies from private funding through public offerings. Mr. Erck received his B.S. from the University of Illinois and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.

Gregory M. Glenn, M.D., Senior Vice President & Chief Scientific Officer |
Dr. Glenn pioneered the use of the skin immune system for the purposes of immunization and with his team has developed passive vaccine delivery systems such as patches to provide effective, needle-free delivery. Dr. Glenn and his team have established the field of transcutaneous immunization (TCI) and lead its development through peer-review publications and scientific meetings. As a founder of Iomai, he has been responsible for the conception, implementation and development of the basic science and early clinical trials, and he has multiple patents, publications and book chapters describing TCI. Dr. Glenn was trained at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research where he worked in basic and clinical research relating to adjuvants and vaccine delivery. He received his B.A. at Whitman College, M.D. at the ORU School of Medicine in Oklahoma, received a military HPSP scholarship, and completed his pediatric training at the Madigan Army Medical Center.

Kai Chen, Ph.D., Vice President, Business Development |
Dr. Chen is responsible for developing our business relationships and our intellectual property portfolio. Prior to Iomai, Dr. Chen was the Chief of the Cancer and Biological Modifiers Branch at the NIH's Office of Technology Transfer. He also worked at MedImmune, Inc. in various business development capacities with increasing responsibilities. He received a Ph.D. in Biophysics from the University of Illinois and an MBA in Technology Management/Marketing from UCLA.

Jin Sook Chung, Vice President, Human Resources |
Ms. Chung is reponsible for all aspect of Iomai's human resources function. Prior to joining the Company in 1997, Ms. Chung worked at IFC, part of the World Bank from February 1995 until joining IOMAI. She also worked at multinational companies in Korea, including Hoechst, GE, RJ Reynolds, and Northwest Airlines from 1976-1995. Ms. Chung holds an MBA from George Washington University.

Larry Ellingsworth, Ph.D., Vice President, Research |
Dr. Ellingsworth leads scientific efforts at Iomai with a focus on transcutaneous immunization. He has 25 years of experience in research management in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, including at Collagen Corp., Celtrix Pharmaceuticals, and Antex Biologics. Dr. Ellingsworth received his B.S. in Genetics from the University of California-Davis (UCD), an M.S. in Genetics from California State University, and a Ph.D. in Immunology from UCD.

Sarah A. Frech DVM, MPH, Vice President, Clinical Development |
Dr. Frech directs the design and execution of Iomai's clinical programs. Prior to joining Iomai, Dr. Frech worked for Baxter Vaccines in Vienna, Austria and Baxter Vaccines in Columbia, Maryland. Dr. Frech holds a bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College, a D.V.M. from Washington State University and is a board-certified veterinarian. She has also an M.P.H. from Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Mervyn L. Hamer, Vice President, Operations |
Mr. Hamer is responsible for Iomai's patch technology development, facilities, clinical-material sourcing and manufacturing, quality program and environmental, health and safety issues. He has been in the pharmaceuticals and biotechnology industry for over 25 years, including 10 years with Alza Corporation. Mr. Hamer has managed several projects in vaccine and contraceptive manufacturing in developing countries for the Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH). Mr. Hamer received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Kimber L. Poffenberger, Ph.D., Vice President, Regulatory Affairs |
Dr. Poffenberger joined Iomai as Vice President, Regulatory Affairs, in November 2005. She leads the regulatory strategy, submissions and compliance activities for all products. Dr. Poffenberger has over 18 years experience in the pharma/biotech field, including 10 years at the Food and Drug Administration. She has worked with authorities in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdon and the European Union and led successful submissions at investigational, market application and postmarket product stages. Most recently she served as senior director of regulatory affairs at MedImmune Inc., where she headed the vaccines regulatory group responsible for FluMist and all other vaccines. Dr. Poffenberger has also worked as a regulatory affairs director for Baxter BioSciences. Dr. Poffenberger holds a B.S. in Biochemistry from Carnegie-Mellon University and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Chicago.

Robert C. Seid, Vice President, Formulations |
Dr. Seid has served as Vice President, Formulations since August 2005. Dr. Seid leads Iomai?s formulation development and analytical methods groups to develop products for transcutaneous immunization. Prior to joining Iomai, Dr. Seid had over 20 years of experience in directing formulation optimization and characterization of biological products. He had previously served as senior director of formulations and process development at Wyeth Vaccines Research, and as director, formulation development at Aviron (now MedImmune Vaccine, Inc.). Dr. Seid earned his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of California-Berkeley and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Boston University.

Russell P. Wilson, Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel |
Mr. Wilson is responsible for overseeing Iomai's financial strategy, including external relations with both investment banks and tax and securities regulators. He also structures and negotiates business deals. Mr. Wilson joined Iomai in 2000 as Vice President, Business Development and was responsible for overseeing the development of Iomai's business relationships and commercialization of products and technologies. Mr. Wilson came to Iomai from North American Vaccine, Inc. (NAVA), which was sold to Baxter Healthcare in 2000. Mr. Wilson received a B.A. from Princeton University and holds a M.B.A./J.D. from the University of Virginia.
